Identifying a character's conflict

human beings become fully alive only when they have something meaningful to push against. To identify an individual's conflict, we ask: What is the character trying to get, do, or accomplish? An insightful answer reveals what the character deeply wants, and what prevents him or her from succeeding. we then look to see if he or she changes tactics to overcome the immediate obstacles. Eventually, we hope the character will come to grips with their problem and struggle directly with whatever they need to overcome. This is called the Confrontation.
